What should I call myself?. A human being, who spent half a century on planet earth, who gained lot of experience in project management as a practitioner, trainer, coach and consultant. Started my career as a computer programmer working with Oracle-5 and Unix operating system, then at some point in time became a project manager without any idea about professional project management. I am sure that you are not surprised except for the brutal honesty of mine to tell you the truth. After training around 3000+ project managers from across the globe, I am convinced of the fact that the situation has not changed much even today, except the fact that the internet revolution made vital project management information available to all in the form of PMBOK, PRINCE2 and the Agile family. So, the present generation is lucky to get everything on a platter, so that their learning curve is faster. All they need to do is to leverage the knowledge available around them. I play a facilitator role here, prooving again and again that professional project management is easier than adhoc project management.

As a training best practice, I do not preach anything which I have not experienced either positively or negatively. I personally wanted to undergo the experience of gaining globally accepted credentials in project management and in the process I have the following certifications in project management apart from my degree in Electrical engineering and Masters in Quality management;

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), by PMI,USA
  • Projects in Controlled Environment (PRINCE2)
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP)
  • PMI's Agile Certified Professional  (PMI-ACP)

Since I am from the outsourcing hub of the world (Bangalore, India), I am good at all these, and use the appropriate one for the project on hand and the customer.

The work I have done so far

Twenty years of my life I spent with Novell, HCL, OTE, KSB and Think Business, before I started my own company (supposed to be a company, which ended up as a social network of professional project managers) and I am very happy about it. During the PMRI journey I came across lot of smart people from various organizations including Intel, Microsoft, Yahoo, Oracle, G.E, Turner, Shell, H.P, Amdocs, John Deere, Societe Generale.... and several other brave start ups. I could work closely with a handful of very interesting organizations in improving their project management practices.

While writing this, I would have trained around 3500 professionals from India, Middle East, Far East, U.K and USA. The journey is not yet over...it is on.

The training programs designed, developed and delivered by me;

  • PMdistilled PMP preparatory program (3 days)
  • Agile project management using SCRUM (1 day and 2 days)
  • PMI-ACP preparatory program (3 days)
  • I.T project management

These programs are delivered through classroom and online environments
